"Having researched and experienced other similar courses I have sent my team on the Community Safety Professionals' training and I can honestly say it is the best of breed; the lecturers are real experts in their field. Although we originally only wanted the training I was so impressed that we decided to undertake the BTEC Professional Award in Community Safety, Crime & Nuisance Management for Practitioners qualification. We got a lot out of it and surprisingly the module that really impacted on us most has been the 'Victims and Witnesses' module which really has started the team and me doing things differently. I would thoroughly recommend it."

These are new and dynamic times for Community Safety Partnerships (CSP's) and those who work with them. The government approach to community safety encourages the harm centred stance vaunted by the Police & Crime Commissioners, who have a duty to consult the victims of crime. This fact combined with the Commissioners' powers and budgetary responsibility has significantly changed the landscape of community safety in the UK. The implications will be dramatic and become more evident as they settle into their roles. The result will be a changing landscape and fresh policies which together with new legislation (as outlined in the White Paper 'Putting Victims First'), will have substantial implications for those working to improve community safety.

Those changes, combined with public sector budget cuts and reducing resources at the local government level will mean that there will be an even greater requirement for competent, new and updated skills and knowledge within the community safety work force. If you are the police, local authority, landlord, probation, education, health service, fire service and/or work within community safety you will benefit from our £150 one day courses on subjects which include legislation, supporting victims, interviewing skills, exchanging information and promoting community confidence. These courses can combine to produce our highly regarded BTEC qualifications; full descriptions of which can be seen in our courses section.
